MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE – Developer’s Blog VOL. 24

Thank you for your continued support of MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE.

This marks the first new season of 2026, with the start of Season 15 today! The entire team would like to express our sincere gratitude to all players who continue to support the game.

As always, we would like to begin by introducing the new playable character for Season 15!
This time Fumikage Tokoyami, from U.A. High Class 1-A, joins the lineup!

We aimed to develop Fumikage Tokoyami as a character capable of fighting at all ranges.

By controlling his Quirk "Dark Shadow," he can attack from long distances using his Quirk Skills α and β, while using his Special Action "Twin Wings of the Black Arm" to move and glide through the air. He can even use items while gliding!

His other Special Action, "Black Ankh," allows him to close the distance between himself and an opponent in an instant and engage in close-range combat using enhanced melee attacks.

He can also utilize his Quirk Skill γ to have Dark Shadow block an opponent's attack. While his Quirk Skill γ is activated, Tokoyami can perform a variety of actions such as using items, opening Item Boxes, or rescuing allies. He can also use his Quirk Skill γ while Downed.

As each move involves interacting with Dark Shadow, we hope players can enjoy the experience of cooperative fighting.

Please give Fumikage Tokoyami a try in your next battle!

Next up we have added a brand new fourth stage, "Neo Academia."

Using the Final Battle as inspiration, we have put a lot of effort into developing every aspect of this stage.

Neo Academia is a stage characterized by a floating "Sky Area" in the center, which is an isolated zone not connected to anything else, making it less susceptible to interference from other areas.

In order for players to reach the Sky Area, we have introduced a new gimmick called a "Teleporter." A Teleporter is a one-way device that instantly transports players to a specified location by touching it.

However, it becomes unusable as the Safe Area shrinks and as time passes. This makes the Teleporter essential for traversing the map early- to mid-battle.

Players can travel to other areas within the Neo Academia map by using the Teleporter and passing through the Sky Area. We hope that by making good use of the Teleporter early on, players will be able to come up with new and exciting gameplay strategies.

Additionally, other areas of the map feature dramatically different terrain, including:

  • A city area with a mix of traditional Japanese houses and high-rise buildings, featuring a variation in height.
  • An area with a complex array of pipes.
  • Construction sites with easy vertical movement.
  • Spacious hospitals with multi-level structures and underground laboratories.

We believe players will enjoy each location and the unique combat experience they bring!
We also hope players will enjoy this new fourth stage, where tactical combat and precise movement are crucial to victory!

We have also included various improvements in Season 15.

In addition to improving the usability of items we have also implemented adjustments to aerial combat, improving gameplay and making it easier to perform attacks, and allowing players to pick up items while taking damage. Please see the patch notes for details.

We have also made updates to the Costume Pick Up Roll.

Starting with Season 15, this has been changed to a Step-Up Roll. There are three steps, and players can progress through them every 10 Rolls. Players are guaranteed one of the PUR costumes featured in Step 3, so if there's a costume you want, be sure to aim for it!

Adjustments have also been made to the Character Ticket, which were previously announced in the New Year's Q&A.

This item has been renamed "Battle Style Ticket," and has been expanded to include more items eligible for exchange.

Overhaul (Original) has been added to the list of eligible items, and this ticket can now be exchanged for certain "Battle Style: Alternative" items, and we plan to regularly add more eligible Battle Styles in the future.

Players can convert any excess Battle Style Tickets into Hero Souls.

Some new additions have also been made to My Room.

After deciding on a base background, players can now customize up to three parts. Players can now cycle between variations for each part to create a variety of different styles, even with the same background.

We have also added new parts to the backgrounds that appeared in Season 14. We hope you will try out the various combinations!

Finally, we would like to share some adjustments and issues related to certain Battle Styles.
Some Battle Styles are more powerful than originally intended, such as:

  • The burn damage inflicted by Armored All Might's Quirk Skill α.
  • Shigaraki Tomura's Quirk Skill α when paired with evasion to cancel.
  • Lady Nagant's aerial fighting and Special Action.

We plan to make some adjustments to these Battle Styles in the next season.

We have also confirmed an issue with some Battle Styles that allows characters to stay airborne for long periods of time if certain conditions are met. We are currently working on a fix for this issue in the next season.

We will continue working hard so that more players can enjoy the game, and hope everyone continues to have fun playing MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE.
