An Update on Estate Issues

Hello Pyreborn!

First and foremost, we want to sincerely apologize about the confusion and resulting chaos that occurred after last night’s incident. Our priority is, and always will be, focused on providing the best service possible to the players and in that effort, we acted too quickly with that mentality in mind.

Last night, we temporarily suspended around 350 accounts after an investigation of server logs related to an exploit with the Estate system. We have been looking into this issue for some time, and after verifying and uncovering a fix, we chose to take swift action as this bug became more widely known to minimize the fallout related to the exploit.

However, as we continued to work through the night (and saw an alarming amount of our community asking why their accounts were temporarily suspended), it came to light that innocent accounts had been included in our temporary suspension due to human error in our log investigation process. After a more in-depth investigation, we narrowed the amount of exploiters to around 50 players.

We understand that this situation is absolutely inexcusable. We have reinforced our process and will strive to never have it occur again. In relation to the exploit itself, we still anticipate a full fix coming next week and want to apologize for letting it linger for so long.

The team has begun restoring access for accounts that were erroneously marked and aim to have this finished within the next 24 hours at the latest. The team will also follow up by sending apologies to all of the players affected, including a compensation package of 10 Sealed Chest Keys and 200,000 Star Seed, which players can find waiting for them when they log back into the game.

With that said, we are currently working on restoring access to the game for these affected accounts and again, want to emphasize that this was on us as we learn how to best navigate these situations. While Estates remain down, we will be providing the following as compensation for each day Estates remain offline.

• 2 Sealed Chest Keys
• 1x 3hr. PvE Combat EXP Boost
• 1 Standard Repair Tool
• 300 Artifact Cores
• 1,000 Star Seed

Again, we consider this to be inexcusable and will be working even harder to ensure this never occurs again. We will continue to listen to our community in order to evolve and improve our service.
