Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today announced that an update featuring two new roles for DEATH NOTE Killer Within is available now. The update is available for free to players and includes X Kira and N, along with new 3D Mode, Premium Avatar and Customization Pack Vol. 6 and more to expand the player’s experience. As the first official game adaptation of the globally acclaimed series, DEATH NOTE Killer Within transforms the series' supernatural concept, where a deadly notebook is capable of killing anyone whose name is written in it, into a gripping 10-player social deduction experience. X-Kira offers a new twist on the classic Kira role. Unlike traditional Kira, X-Kira can secretly recruit one Investigator during meeting phases, though key characters like L, Watari and Mello are immune. X-Kira also wields exclusive Command Cards such as “Fake Surveillance Tasks” to sow confusion among Team L. Meanwhile, N serves as a strategic counterpart to L, using unique cards like “SPK Tracker” and “Money Chaos” to track player behavior and block identity theft. Without access to tools like the Speaker or Investigator Evidence, N introduces fresh tactics for Team L players.

Additionally, a new 3D mode lets players move the camera freely and explore their surroundings. Players can also customize their avatar with the new Premium Avatar and Customization Pack Vol. 6, featuring L in a swimsuit with a plastic watermelon and diving goggles. A special animation and extra rewards can also be unlocked through leveling up.

DEATH NOTE Killer Within is an online social deduction game where players must determine who they can trust. In the game, players can assume one of four roles - Kira, Kira Follower, L, or Investigator - each offering unique gameplay characteristics. In each assigned role, players can develop a wide range of strategies, as randomized scenarios evolve into high-stakes gameplay. They must then uncover each other's identities to eliminate L or seize the Death Note from Kira. The game features cross-play for up to 10 players across platforms and offers robust customization options. Engage in a game of wits as both sides vie for the hidden Death Note, leading to a thrilling showdown of truth and deception until one team prevails.
