July Closed Beta Release Notes

July 11, 2019

General

  • The Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement can now be accessed from the Options Menu.

  • The BNEA account window now has a new look.

  • Subtitles are active in the cinematics.

  • Changed control keys used for mounts:

    • Y Speed Up

    • A Slow Down

    • B Dismount

    • X Sprint

  • You can no longer jump continuously while on a mount.

  • Reduced jump height while mounted.

  • Reduced summoning time for mounts.

  • Updated the tutorial guide to show new mount controls.

  • Mounts will now sprint for five seconds before returning to normal speed.

  • Fixed some mount animations that were out of sync.

  • Ping to server can now be viewed at server select.

  • Added the ability to skip the prologue or tutorial.

  • Added sprinting to all classes (Press the LS button to activate > Uses stamina).

  • Added lock-on ability when fighting bosses (Activated with RS button when target is a boss).

  • Potions can now be used in the tutorial dungeon.

  • If you resurrect at the Soul Pyre after dying on the field you will receive a “resurrection Sickness” debuff. 

    • The duration of the resurrection sickness shall vary according to character level.

    • Effect: Reduces the damage of all abilities by 30%.

    • Resurrection Sickness can be removed with an item, or it will be automatically removed once time is up.

  • A small amount of gold will be deducted as a penalty for resurrecting at the Soul Pyre after dying in a dungeon. Amount of gold deducted increases according to character level, and it will not be deducted if there is not enough gold.

  • Control types 1 and 2 have been updated. 

    • Control Type 1 will use X, Y, B, and A for Combo attacks.

    • Control Type 2 will use RB, RT, and B for Combo attacks.

  • Experience earned from gathering has been increased dramatically.

  • Modified all monsters’ dropped gold.

  • Players will now receive a reward via in-game mail for every five levels gained.

  • All enemies now have a chance to drop crafting recipes.

  • Food and Reputation shops now carry a selection of crafting recipes.

  • Adjusted the sell price of some items to be lower than buy cost.

  • Personal and Account Storage now start with 6 spaces each.

  • Added 2 types of hair per class / race in the character creator, including African and Bald styles.

  • Reduced the amount of HP regained per tick while sitting at a Soul Pyre.

  • Star seed exchange is now available below level 11.

 

Classes

General

  • Applied combo and skill balance across all classes.

  • Combos and skill videos have had updates to all classes.

  • Reduced camera rotation speed by 50% for all ranged classes.

  • Adjusted all combo skill ranges for the Mage and Priest.

  • Made adjustments to all combos for balance purposes.

  • Modified all class combo unlock levels.

    • Previously additional skills are unlocked at levels 10 and 20. Now new skills will be unlocked at levels 5, 10, and 15.

  • Hit box size has been increased by 10%.

  • The total damage value of area attacks will now be divided by the number of enemies to obtain damage per enemy.

  • Added dash ability to all classes while in combat.

 

Crusader

  • The Male Ippin has been added as a creation selection.

  • The amount of Bravery gained during combos has been adjusted.

  • Guarding can now block positional crowd control.

  • The Charge ability has been changed to the Onslaught ability and will no longer sprint to a target and then attack, it now moves quickly to a target and then attacks.

  • Fixed an issue where the guard disarming motion sometimes wouldn’t appear.

  • Guarding will no longer allow users to dodge and cancel the Breakthrough Ability.

  • Male Ippin Crusaders will no longer have issues dodging.

  • Guard will no longer automatically re-engage when broken.

  • Modified defense gauge and gauge regeneration amount according to guardian guard modification changes.

  • Fixed an issue with the Crusader’s Bravery gauge not displaying properly.

Berserker

  • Dodge can no longer be performed while the Rage ability is active.

  • Reduced defense when Rage ability is active by 100%.

  • Reduced width of the hit box for the Seize ability.

  • Reduced animation time for Heavy Strike, Heavy Swing, Axe Whirl’s Blockade.

Priest

  • Replaced the XXB combo with XXXYB.

  • Modified combos that don’t use projectiles to have a max range of 15m.

  • Removed the casting action for Ultimate: Epiphany.

  • Modified the Ultimate: Epiphany skill for quicker activation.

  • The Priest’s Holy Energy resource will now naturally recover over time.

  • Increased some skills’ consumption of Holy Energy.

  • Balance updates for Divine Punishment, Holy Epiphany, Holy Fire.

  • The XXX combo now knocks the enemy back on the third attack.

  • Increased the recovery amount from Judgement.

  • Blade of Contrition passives now function correctly.

Ranger

  • Male Elves can now be chosen when creating a Ranger during character creation.

  • Reload time has been decreased to 2.5 seconds.

  • Added SFX to Improved Combos.

  • Fan of Arrows can now be used while moving.

Mage

  • The Male Elf has been added as a creation selection.

  • Changed the name of the Consume ability to Amplify.

  • Super Armor vfx is applied when using Consume (Amplify).

  • When using the Amplify ability only the mage will be affected by the Blockade buff.

  • Frost Spike, Arcane Lightning, and Firebomb will now only affect one target.

  • Frost Novano longer slows enemy movement, it will now root targets instead.

  • Arcane Lightning and Firebomb now provide additional mana crystals, but have a decreased attack area.

  • Fixed an issue with the Mage resource gauge not displaying properly.

Monsters

  • Adjusted some QTEs to be a Press type.

  • QTE difficulty is now adjusted based on monster level.

  • Made adjustments to some field and dungeon monster's combat areas.

  • Monsters with ranged attacks will no longer be able to attack through walls.

  • Mole Crickets in The Crawling Labyrinth now have a reduced attack power.

  • Mole Crickets will now drop sap more often.

  • Gnolls in the Roughclaw Village are now level 15 instead of 16.

  • Ostriches in Lake Azos are now weaker.

  • Giants will now run when appropriate.

  • Changed Raging Mushroom and Ferocious Mushroom to attack first.

 

Field Boss

  • Bashal

    • Reduced the model size of Bashal in the open world

  • Grasslands Giant

    • Changed combat area terrain. 

    • Reset combat permitted areas.

    • Thrown projectiles will no longer explode prior to hitting the ground or a player.    

  • Wolf King

    • Reduced the number of summoned adds from 2 per player to 1 per player.

    • Limited max amount of summoned adds to 10.

    • The Wolf King should now be defeatable by 2 - 10 players.

    • Reduced animation time of some of the Wolf King’s attacks.

  • Stone Zephyr

    • Improved rock summoning skill.

      • Increased the number of rocks summoned.

      • Rock projectiles will now track player targets.

    • Updated the Stone Zephyr’s basic combat pattern.

    • Fixed a graphical issue with the Stone Zephyr’s projectiles.

    • Stone Zephyrs can now properly explode when they wish.

  • Kobold Foreman

    • Reduced the level of the Kobold Foreman from 17 to 16.

  • Harpy Queen

    • Increased amount and angle of the Field Boss Harpy Queen’s feather projectiles.

 

Elite

  • Phantom Assassin

    • Fixed to appear even if the quest has been changed.

  • Stone Zephyr

    • Improved rock summoning skill.

    • Increased the number of rocks summoned.

    • Rock projectiles will now track player targets.

    • Updated the Stone Zephyr’s basic combat pattern.

    • Fixed a graphical issue with the Stone Zephyr’s projectiles.

    • Stone Zephyrs can now properly explode when they wish.

  • Kobold Foreman

    • Reduced the level of the Kobold Foreman from 17 to 16.

Items

  • Added 10 new dye recipes.

  • Added new cosmetic Mage stave skin.

  • Organized and changed equipment appearances according to grade.

  • Applied Red’s Morningstar icon, tooltip image.

  • Added new gathering and mining materials.

  • Fixed an error which occured when crafting Focused Attack Gauntlets.

  • Modified item grade for crafting equipment that can’t be enhanced.

  • Fixed spelling error in explanation for how to create Red’s Morningstar.

  • Connected mount cards with finished tooltip images.

  • Added 30 new recipes for equipment which cannot be enhanced.

  • All equipment items should now have their rank properly displayed.

  • Modified crafting material and icon for quest to craft Red’s Morningstar.

  • Added dye crafting.

  • Changed the names of some crafted items which cannot be enhanced.

  • The dialog menu for summoned Market NPCs will now properly show.

  • Corrected displayed effect durations for some lunchbox items.

  • Added 27 Quest items for eliminating Elite and Named Monsters.

  • Changed the grade of item dropped from Spezia Wolf King and The Faceless Duo from A to E.

  • New consumables have been added to the game.

Dungeons

  • General

    • Added an alert explaining that once combat begins with a boss other players will not be able to enter or re-enter the boss area.

    • Increased the distance that players can see dungeon entrances and exits.

    • All dungeons and arenas now provide a reward upon completion.

    • Streamlined matchmaking and dungeon queue system.

  • Arenas

    • The starting area in 2-Player Arena Challenges is now larger.

    • [Gnoll Boss] Fixed where duplicate Totems are summoned. 

    • Improved the AI combat performance of the Gnoll Chiefs.

    • Added lethal skill moves to the Gnoll Chiefs.

  • Infernal Kitchen

    • Decreased the time it takes to open Wyvern Pup cages from 0.8 to 0.6 seconds.

    • Fixed a broken door.

    • Added additional Treasure Chests in the dungeon.

  • Harpy Queen's Nest 

    • Fixed an issue where the Harpy Queen would follow a player if they fall over the edge of the arena.

    • Added a combat starting sequence.

  • Dream Dungeon

    • Reduced the damage of the Cyclops’s rotating eye beam attack.

    • Orcs in armor can now be knocked up/down/back.

  • Telarion

    • Telarion has been re-worked to improve general quest flow and we’ve made significant changes to the final fight with Eskaton.

 

Quests

  • General

    • Prevented the repeatable Bag Expansion quest from being offered until the first Bag Expansion quest is completed. 

    • A system message will now be displayed when you have too little bag space, preventing you from completing a bag expansion quest. Display system message for being unable to complete quest when proceeding bag expansion quest due to lack of bag space.

    • Completing the bag expansion quest will now increase your inventory automatically, rather than providing a bag expansion ticket which the player must then use to expand their inventory.

    • Quest rewards will now always be related to the class you are playing.

    • Region quest rewards will no longer provide consumable items, have a decreased chance of providing enhancements stones, and an increased chance of providing unique equipment.

    • Changed the total number of Soul Pyres needed to obtain the title reward to 60.

    • Changed the total number of Teleposts needed to obtain the title reward to 70.

    • Changed to be able to skip Telarion story after completing Dream Dungeon through the Prologue system.

  • Reputation

    • Repeatable reputation quests can only be completed 3 times a day now.

    • The Reputation list will now display your current reputation level with a given faction.

  • Blessings 

    • Adjusted the summary dialog of the Wolf's Mark quest.

  • Dungeons

    • Added a dungeon quest for the first four 2-Player Challenges.

  • Navarra

    • The Outlaw Soldiers in the graveyard now have speech bubbles.

    • Changed the Battle on the Prairie quest to kill a different enemy mob.

    • Changed quest accept condition and target for Wanted episode quests.

    • Changed prerequisite quest to a main quest for a better route to the Wanted region quest.

    • Roughclaw Elite fights now count towards progression in the A Rough Time quest.

    • The Secret Letter now needs to be handed over to complete the Battle on the Prairie quest.

    • Added a quest marker on the minimap for the Navarran Delivery: Enemy Dog Tags reputation quest.

    • Fixed a quest line requisite issue with the Hunting Spies quest.

    • The quest marker for the quest, Finding the Traitor, is now in the correct location on the world and mini-map.

  • Carzacor

    • Remove Chico’s necklace interaction quest placed temporarily as adding Orfina’s necklace related cinematics.

    • Fixed to normalize House of Mazzini related quest.

    • Polishing 5 types of Wanted episode quest (Fixed 2 / New 3) – Able to obtain high rewards when defeating Named, Elite monsters at Carzacor.

    • Removed the player defeated phase of the quest for eliminating Phantom Assassin.

    • Changed 5 different Elite Name Wanted quest episodes (2 changed /3 added).

    • The forge is now marked as the quest completion location for the blacksmithing tutorial quest.

    • Changed the objective of the episode quest ‘The Cursed Altar’ to a two step quest, first entering the quest area, then kill 10 Ghosts.

    • The episode quest ‘Adventurers's Dream’ now takes place in an instance.

    • Fixed an issue where the episode quests related to Plain Mushroom and region quest: Ferocious Mushroom can’t be cleared.

  • Gnoll Wastes

    • Added 1 new episode quest for the episode of defeating the Kobold Work Leader.

    • Changed conditions to receiving episode quest related to defeating Elite Monster (Talk with NPC -> Obtain item after defeating).

    • Changed 4 types of Wanted region quest to prerequisite condition main quests.

    • Updated quest text to provide improvements to story.

 

Location

  • General

    • Added a Limited Sales merchant

    • Added a Bag Merchant in each zone

  • Carzacor

    • Added and moved a number of treasure chests.

    • Adjusted location of collectables.

    • Resource nodes near Marco’s farm should now all be attainable.

    • Added additional NPCs in the Carzacor harbor.

    • The Red Mask respawn timer has been adjusted in the Demolished District

    • Changed Marco Morta’s location in the abandoned district.

    • Adjusted the collision box of Ferocious Mushroom enemies.

  • Gnoll Wastes

    • Treasure chest and collectible locations have been moved.

    • Red Wind Kinshasha will no longer run away from the player.

    • Resource nodes near Ardell Traders should now be accessible.

    • Modified the trigger volume of the region quests for Ardell, Gnoll Wastes.

  • Navarra

    • Moved locations of Merchant/Crafting/Enhancement NPCs at the camp.

    • Resource nodes near the Navarran military encampment will no longer float.

 

Balance

  • Field and Dungeon Elite mobs and bosses now drop gold and items regardless of character level.

  • There is now a max value on Gear Score penalty when fighting an enemy.

  • Star Seed is no longer given away when creating a new character.

  • Adjusted reward drop for higher end collectables.

  • Adjusted the interaction distance for high end collectables.

  • Party loot share distance has been reduced to 30 meters.

  • Fixed an issue that would cause gathering speed to be a negative number.

  • Created new tier 1~5 gathering materials prop.

  • Resource nodes from Carzacor to Kannus Valley will now drop level appropriate materials.

  • Modified materials obtained from field gathering.

  • Modified weak, normal, and skilled monster’s base material drops.

  • Created 19 types of marked items for named and elite monsters from Carzacor to Gnollado.

  • Modified so that when an item (mark) from a named/elite quest is obtained it will be used right away (use effect is temporarily applied, and will be fixed once the addquest function has been developed).

  • Applied so that monsters will drop named/elite quest items.

  • Modified combo nda

  • Changed so that it can grow only up to level 22.

  • Modified to reward each regional quest and changed required quantity for completion.

  • The footsteps of other players will no longer be so loud.

  • Mole Cricket Larva now has sound FX.

  • [Mount] Modified the sounds of Horse, Kentauros, King of the Jungle, Grimjaw mounts.

  • NPC Merchants now have proper VO greetings. 

  

Bug Fixes

  • [Mount] Fixed an issue with mounts not generating footsteps.

  • [Tutorial] Fixed the issue of quest marks being displayed during the Dream Dungeon.

  • [General] Fixed a problem that caused camera and character control issues after opening and closing the bag.

  • [Item] Fixed a sound problem when using an item.

  • Fixed issue of mount UI being constantly shown when sequence camera is applied when riding mount.

  • All controllers and profiles can now be used when two or more controllers and profiles have been connected.

  • [Telarion] Fixed where players riding mounts used to stuck.

 

Current Known Issues

  • Rolling while in a combo does not always trigger the proper animation.

  • Artifact Shards and Cores that can be obtained from extraction may not be normal.

  • Issue where 3 types of cinematics are shown abnormally.

  • Issue with changing how the wanted quest for named/elites are carried out.

    • Currently making it so that after obtaining a mark for hunting a named/elite monster for the first time, it is possible to do that monster’s wanted quest.
