Battle Style Adjustments
Melee Attacks
- Adjusted the final hit of grounded melee attacks to knock opponents back more easily
- Adjusted tracking range and speed to make the first hit of grounded melee attacks and aerial melee attacks easier to land
Reason for adjustments:
These knockback adjustments aim to make the finishing hit feel more satisfying by reducing the chance of being counterattacked after landing the full combo.
We also made adjustments to make melee attacks easier to land.

- Quirk Skill α "Pillar Split"
- Quirk Skill γ "Structural Slab"
- Ibara Shiozaki (Original)
- Quirk Skill α "Purification" in Aim Mode
- Quirk Skill β "Via Dolorosa"
Reason for adjustments:
We adjusted damage scaling by level to make it easier to fight even at lower levels.
The following Quirk Skills will now activate in midair if a jump input is entered when using them
- Himiko Toga (Original)
- Quirk Skill β "Slasher Killer Knife"
- Denki Kaminari (Lightning)
- Quirk Skill γ "Lightning Way"
Reason for adjustments:
We made these adjustments to improve ease of use.
Itsuka Kendo
- Added Special Action 2, "Sky-Dancing Fist"
Reason for adjustments:
After throwing an ally with her Special Action, Kendo's limited mobility sometimes left her far behind.
We added a new Special Action similar to "High Jump" to improve her mobility and make it easier to regroup with allies.
Itsuka Kendo (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Stone-throwing Fist"
- Adjusted to knock opponents back more easily
Quirk Skill β "Big Fist Shield"
- Now accepts buffered inputs after using Quirk Skill α
Quirk Skill γ "Big Fist Grip"
- Reduced damage
Reason for adjustments:
The new Special Action improves her mobility, so we reduced the damage output of Quirk Skill α and Quirk Skill γ to maintain balance. We also improved ease of use by allowing inputs for Quirk Skill α to be buffered after using Quirk Skill β.
Mr. Compress (Original)
Special Action "Magic Resurrection"
- No longer restores HP outside the Safe Area
- Now drops the ally being carried only when knocked back into an invincible state
Quirk Skill α "Production Magic"
- Adjusted to knock opponents back more easily
Quirk Skill β "Sleight of Hand"
- Now accepts buffered inputs after using Quirk Skill α
Reason for adjustments:
The increased healing had made surviving outside the Safe Area more effective than intended, so HP will no longer be restored outside the Safe Area. Quirk Skill β now accepts buffered inputs so it can be activated smoothly after actions such as using Quirk Skill α. To balance these improvements to ease of use, we also made it easier to knock opponents back with Quirk Skill α to limit its offensive potential when landing consecutive hits.
Hawks (Slicing Wind)
Quirk Skill α "Cold Wind"
- No longer causes opponents to flinch when dealing HP damage
Reason for adjustments:
An adjustment was made because opponents with only HP remaining frequently flinched when hit by Quirk Skill α before being finished off by a combo, leaving them little opportunity to respond.
Shoto Todoroki
Special Action "Scorching Flame Wave"
- Projectiles now travel in the aim direction
- Adjusted the hit interval of the flames left on the ground
- Adjusted damage
Reason for adjustments:
To make the Special Action easier to use, its projectiles now travel in the aim direction. We also adjusted the hit interval and damage to make it easier to deal damage and K.O. downed opponents.
Shoto Todoroki (Original)
Quirk Skill β "Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall"
- Reduced the duration of the placed ice wall
Quirk Skill γ (Derivative) "Ice Step"
- The character now faces the direction of movement input when the skill activates
Reason for adjustments:
Quirk Skill β remained in place for a long time and often provided strong protection inside buildings and similar spaces, so we shortened its duration. Quirk Skill γ now makes the character face the direction of movement input when activated, making it easier to use the skill in the intended direction.
Ochaco Uraraka (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Zodiac Wire"
- Reduced damage
Quirk Skill γ "Nebulous Space"
- Reduced the time before levitated debris is forced to fall.
Reason for adjustments:
In a previous adjustment, we increased the ammo amount for Quirk Skill α. However, we observed a trend where players would instantly DOWN airborne opponents, especially Battle Styles with HP below 250, by landing several hits with Quirk Skill α and following up with Quirk Skill γ. Therefore, we reduced Qurik Skill α's damage and suppressed the increase in combo damage that resulted from the increased amount of ammo.
Also, as Quirk Skill γ caused the debris to remain in the air for a relatively long time before falling, we shortened this duration.
Ochaco Uraraka (Zero Satellites)
Quirk Skill α "Comet Bunt" / "Planet Home Run"
- Standardized the delay before opponents can recover across all levels
- Reduced damage when tapping the button
- Adjusted to knock back opponents more easily when tapping the button
- Reduced damage when holding down
- The camera now zooms out for opponents hit when holding the button
Quirk Skill β "Zero Satellites"
- Stopping the skill partway through no longer reduces its ammo to 0
- Adjusted the number of hits and damage
- The camera now zooms out for opponents hit by the skill
Quirk Skill γ "Nebula Runway" / "Nebula Stage"
- Reduced levitation duration
- Adjusted to make it easier to knock back opponents
- Reduced damage from falling debris when tapping the button
- Reduced damage from the levitation attack when holding the button
- Added a post-processing effect while inside the skill's area of effect
Reason for adjustments:
This Battle Style tended to outperform others across various combat statistics, so we adjusted its balance to reduce combo potential and damage while improving ease of use.
The delay before opponents could recover from Quirk Skill α varied by level, making its behavior difficult to judge when fighting against it, so we standardized the delay across all levels. We also reduced damage when tapping or holding the button, and made tapping the button knock opponents back more easily. When holding the button, the camera now zooms out for the opponent being hit so they can better assess the situation when knocked a long distance away.
Previously, having Quirk Skill β interrupted also depleted all its ammo, severely limiting mobility afterward, so we changed this behavior. We also adjusted the number of hits and damage to make landing the attack feel more satisfying.
Quirk Skill γ's long levitation duration left opponents vulnerable to combos and follow-up attacks from third parties, so we adjusted the levitation duration and how easily it causes knockback. We also reduced damage when tapping or holding the button and added a post-processing effect to make it clearer when the players are within the skill's area of effect.
Himiko Toga
Special Action "Transform"
- The opponent whose appearance you have taken can no longer see you through walls
- Reduced reload time
Reason for adjustments:
Transforming could reveal your position through walls to the opponent you copied, undermining the advantage of the transformation, so we removed this visibility.
We also shortened the reload time to make it easier to use more freely.
Izuku Midoriya
Special Action "Carry to Safety"
- Now grants Super Armor while carrying an ally
- Now reduces damage taken while carrying an ally
- Increased resistance to knockback while carrying an ally
Reason for adjustments:
We observed frequent situations where Midoriya was knocked back while carrying an ally, preventing him from reviving them. We made the action harder to interrupt once an ally has been picked up, making revives more likely to succeed.
Izuku Midoriya (Original)
Quirk Skill β "St. Louis Smash"
- Tracking is now continuous through the start of the dash
- Reduced recovery time after the kick hits
- Now knocks opponents back farther
- Adjusted to knock opponents back more easily
- Increased momentum after the Dash
Quirk Skill γ "Blackwhip"
- Increased projectile speed
- Increased projectile size
- Adjusted to knock opponents back more easily
Reason for adjustments:
We observed that Quirk Skill β was harder to land than other dash skills and often left the user open to counterattacks even when it connected. We added tracking to make the skill easier to land, reduced recovery time and adjusted knockback power to make counterattacks less likely.
To make Quirk Skill γ easier to use, we increased its projectile size and speed, with easier knockbacks as the trade-off.
Mirio Togata (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Phantom Threat"
- When the skill ends inside a building, Permeation now continues briefly to make it easier to emerge on the other side
- Ammo count now increases to 3 at Lv. 4
Reason for adjustments:
When Permeation ended, Mirio could be pushed back even after reaching the other side of a building, so we adjusted the skill to make it easier to emerge on the far side.
We also slightly lowered the level at which the ammo count increases to make the skill easier to use at lower levels.
Tsuyu Asui (Original)
Quirk Skill β "Ribbit Swing"
- Opponents hit by the aerial version now bounce even if their Guard has not been broken
Reason for adjustments:
Although this is a key damage-dealing skill, we found that opponents reacted differently depending on the situation, making combos unreliable, so we standardized their reaction when hit.
Tenya Iida (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Recipro Wheel"
- Zoomed the camera out to make combos easier to land
- Now launches opponents straight up when hit
Quirk Skill γ "Recipro Turbo"
- Now accepts movement inputs while descending during the forward flip
Reason for adjustments:
Movement during the skill made it difficult to connect combos, so we adjusted the camera position and the direction opponents are knocked back to make combos more consistent. We also made Quirk Skill γ's forward flip easier to use by allowing a small amount of movement during the descent.
Eijiro Kirishima
Aerial Melee Attack
- Now knocks opponents back a long distance if they have GP remaining
Reason for adjustments:
We made this adjustment because knockback distance varied significantly depending on the opponent's remaining health.
Eijiro Kirishima (Original)
Quirk Skill β "Red Counter"
- Can now be canceled into Quirk Skill β
Quirk Skill γ "Red Burst"
- Holding the button when using the skill in midair now increases jump height
Reason for adjustments:
Quirk Skill β left a large opening when dodged and was difficult to follow up, so it can now be canceled directly into another use of Quirk Skill β. To provide more movement and attack options when using Quirk Skill γ in midair, we increased jump height when holding the button.
Ibara Shiozaki (Original)
Quirk Skill γ "Crucifixion"
- Adjusted hit interval and damage
- Increased healing
- Now consumes ammo even when the skill misses
Aerial Melee Attack
- Reduced damage
Reason for adjustments:
Quirk Skill γ had a long interval between damage ticks after connecting, sometimes allowing the attack to be interrupted before delivering an adequate payoff, so we adjusted its hit interval, damage, and healing. However, the skill could previously be used repeatedly without consuming ammo when it missed, so it now consumes ammo even on a miss. These adjustments increased the damage of combos from aerial melee attacks into Quirk Skill γ, so we reduced aerial melee attack damage.
Tamaki Amajiki (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Marlin Rapier"
- Made critical hits easier to land
- Reduced damage
Aerial Melee Attack
- Increased movement distance
- Made it easier to combo into Quirk Skill β after landing a hit
Reason for adjustments:
The distance required to land a critical hit with Quirk Skill α was unclear, making critical hits difficult to aim for, so we adjusted the skill to make them easier to land intentionally. We also reduced damage to maintain overall balance.
Aerial melee attacks covered too little distance relative to their animation, so we adjusted the movement distance to better match the visual motion. We also made combos into Quirk Skill β easier to connect, as they had been inconsistent.
Katsuki Bakugo (Machine Gun)
Quirk Skill β "Shrapnel Strike"
- Projectiles now fall all the way to the ground and hit opponents
Reason for adjustments:
When using Quirk Skill β from high up after Quirk Skill γ or a Special Action, its projectiles did not reach the ground, making it difficult to deal damage, so they now fall all the way to the ground.
Denki Kaminari (Lightning)
Quirk Skill α "Electro-Trident"
- Reduced the projectile spread angle
Quirk Skill α (Derivative) "Lock-On Electro"
- Reduced lock-on time when the Special Action is not active
- Reduced damage
Quirk Skill γ "Lightning Way"
- Increased the damage multiplier gained with each hit
Reason for adjustments:
Quirk Skill α's wide spread made it difficult to land projectiles other than the center one, so we narrowed the spread angle to make landing multiple projectiles easier. For Quirk Skill α (Derivative), opponents often reached cover before lock-on was complete, so we shortened the lock-on time. As this adjustment makes the skill easier to land, we reduced its damage to maintain balance.
Landing consecutive hits with Quirk Skill γ offered too little reward for the difficulty involved, so we increased the damage multiplier gained with each hit to make attacking multiple opponents more worthwhile.
Tomura Shigaraki (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Earth Crack"
- Now accepts forward, backward, left, and right movement inputs when activated in midair
Quirk Skill β "Ground Destruction"
- The attack can now hit opponents while descending
- Now also accepts forward, backward, left, and right movement inputs while descending
- Holding the button now increases jump height
- When activated in midair, now tracks an opponent near the reticle
Reason for adjustments:
Quirk Skill α could be difficult to land when activated in midair, as opponents could move before the character reached the ground, so we enabled movement inputs in midair to make it easier to attach the intended location
Since Quirk Skill β was easy to evade at close range with actions such as jumping, we added a hitbox during the descent to make airborne opponents easier to hit. We also added movement inputs and opponent tracking to make aiming in midair easier. To provide more options when attacking, holding the button now makes the character jump higher.
Kurogiri (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Dark Matter"
- Made projectiles less likely to get caught on environmental objects
Reason for adjustments:
The projectiles' large size often cause them to hit environmental objects in front of the character before reaching the intended target, so we made an adjustment.
Lady Nagant (Original)
Quirk Skill β "High Angle Fire"
- Aiming the reticle at an opponent now causes the skill to activate at that opponent's feet
Reason for adjustments:
When the reticle was aimed at an opponent, the skill could activate behind them, making it difficult to land. The skill now activates at the opponent's feet when the reticle is aimed at them, making it more intuitive to land.
All Might (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Texas Smash"
- Reduced damage
Quirk Skill β "United States of Smash"
- Adjusted to knock opponents back more easily
Reason for adjustments:
The Super Armor improvements at the start of Season 17 made combos using Quirk Skill β easier to land, so we made it easier to knock opponents back to reduce its damage output.
Across all platforms, damage and K.O. counts were higher than those of other Assault-role Battle Styles, and improved follow-up potential made opponents easier to finish off, so we recused the damage for Quirk Skill α.
Mt. Lady (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Spike Knuckle"
- Increased projectile speed during Gigantification
Reason for adjustments:
Quirk Skill α's slow projectile speed during Gigantification made it difficult to hit opponents, so we slightly increased its projectile speed to make it easier to land.
Endeavor (Original)
Quirk Skill α "Burning Ray"
- Increased damage
- Adjusted to knock opponents back less easily
Quirk Skill β "Searing Arrow"
- Now accepts buffered inputs after using Quirk Skill α
Reason for adjustments:
Inputs for Quirk Skill β often failed to register when used immediately after Quirk Skill α finished firing, so it now accepts buffered inputs to make the skills easier to chain.
Quirk Skill α's average damage was particularly low among skills that deal consecutive hits, so we increased its damage per hit to improve balance.
Shota Aizawa (Flow Runner)
Quirk Skill α "Binding Cloth: Leap"
- Quirk Skill α can no longer grab an opponent it has just kicked away
- Reduced the damage the grabbed opponent takes from other attackers
Reason for adjustments:
Quirk Skill α made it easy to grab opponents again after kicking them away and continue a combo, leaving them little opportunity to respond. This was even more powerful outside the Safe Area, where the distance opponents are kicked is shorter, so we adjusted the skill to prevent repeated grabs. Ally attacks could also deal high combined damage while an opponent was restrained, so we reduced the damage taken by restrained opponents.
Gentle Criminal
Special Action "Gently Trampoline"
- Movement inputs now allow slight adjustments to position while descending
Reason for adjustments:
It was difficult to adjust position while descending after using the Special Action, so we enabled movement inputs to make it easier to land at the intended location.
Star and Stripe (Original)
Quirk Skill β "Zero Air"
- Increased reload speed
Quirk Skill γ "Keraunos"
- Increased reload speed
Special Action "Invert Area"
- Increased reload speed after full depletion
Reason for adjustments:
We made these adjustments to improve ease of use.
We increased the reload speed of Quirk Skill β and γ, and also increased reload speed after fully depleting the Special Action, since its wait time before reuse was longer than that of other skills.
Present Mic (D.J. Board)
Quirk Skill α "Echo Voice"
- Increased damage
- Increased reload speed
- Increased ammo count
- Increased range
Quirk Skill β "D.J. Board"
- Increased damage of the Special Action follow-up
- Increased reload speed
- Reloading now begins without needing to touch the ground
Quirk Skill γ "Loudspeaker"
- Increased reload speed
- Adjusted to knock opponents back less easily
Reason for adjustments:
Since its introduction, this Battle Style has consistently had the lowest combat statistics of all Battle Styles, so we improved its overall performance.
We increased the reload speed of each Quirk Skill to allow more sustained use.
We also increased the damage, ammo count, and range of the frequently used Quirk Skill α, and adjusted the damage and behavior of Quirk Skill β and γ to make their offensive performance more consistent.
Dabi (Crazy Torch)
Quirk Skill γ "Crazy Torch"
- Can now only be used when ammo is at 100%
Reason for adjustments:
Previous adjustments allowed Quirk Skill γ to be activated and deactivated frequently, making it easy to trigger repeated explosions at will.
As a result, we observed damage and K.O. counts above our expectations across all platforms, so we adjusted the skill to activate only at 100% ammo, reducing activation frequency to improve balance.
Certain Special Actions now launch the character in the direction of movement input at the moment they jump
- All Might "High Jump"
- Endeavor "High Jump"
- Fumikage Tokoyami "Twin Wings of the Black Arm"
Reason for adjustments:
Previously, these actions only launched the character in the direction they were facing when activated, making them somewhat awkward to use, so we changed their behavior to match Isuka Kendo's newly added Special Action.
