ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet | Teach me, Tori — A Feast Inspired by ONE PIECE
The grand opening of the management sim ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is here on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and mobile on the App Store and Google Play.
Over the past few weeks, Chef David, with a little help from Tori, took on the challenge of recreating four iconic dishes from the game to prepare for the game's launch. Inspired by recipes from One Piece: Pirate Recipes by Sanji, Chef David needed to learn how to cook a feast so he'd have a chance to become a rookie staff member on the Baratie Number Two. Find out about the dishes and the game below! The recipes do not reflect the in-game recipes.
Dish #1 - Sanji's Pilaf
Sanji's Pilaf first appeared during the East Blue Arc when Gin arrived at the Baratie, starving and without a Berry to his name. Despite his fearsome reputation, Sanji offered Gin this pilaf and moved the "Demon Man" to tears with his generosity.
What better dish to start with when hoping to work under Sanji aboard the Baratie Number Two? Chef David put together the rice, corn beef, mushrooms, and eggs and showed the many possibilities players can experiment in the kitchen in ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet. Players can discover ingredients and develop recipes with them based on characters' suggestions. Devil Fruit users can even lend their abilities in the kitchen to create special dishes!
Dish #2 - Stone Stew
Next, Chef David took on Stone Stew from the Sky Island Arc. Sanji made this dish for the Straw Hat Crew as they searched for the legenedary city of gold, Shandora. With limited supplies and equipment, Sanji ingeniously dropped hot stones in a pot to cook up this hearty stew.
Stepping up the complexity a bit, Chef David recreated the recipe by browning pork in a pot and simmering it in red wine, raisins, and ketchup. Just as these different ingredients melded together into a cohesive dish, players can use more than 200 pieces of furniture and decor to create a cozy restaurant, with pieces inspired by the many story arcs of ONE PIECE.
Dish #3 - Meat on the Bone
Few things are more recognizable than Luffy chowing down on this beloved dish when celebrating a win with the Straw Hat Crew, so we had to do it!
Though a bit nervous to recreate it, Chef David did his best to do this iconic dish justice. In the process of putting together the ground chicken, egg, and chicken drumsticks, he made a dish brimming with protein to reflect how the game is brimming with 400+ ONE PIECE characters. Not only do you work alongside the Straw Hat Crew members, you will have visitors from characters from across nearly every arc. Attract guests with a perfect dining experience, turn them into regulars, and enjoy unique interactions throughout your restaurant's journey.
Dish #4 - Fruit Macedonia
During the East Blue Arc, Sanji makes this refreshing dish as an apology to Nami after she gets caught in an argument between him and Zeff. Of course, the final dish of Chef David's feast before the launch of ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet had to be a dessert!
Mixing the colorful fruits together reminds us that in ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet, you can also customize your meal sets. From the food items, to the dishes and utensils, and even the trays, there are plenty of ways to create a menu that's uniquely yours! And isn't that what cooking is all about?
If you haven't watched the videos yet, now's the perfect time to watch all four videos and get familiar! Will you try to make any of the dishes?
