Open Beta Feedback Deep Dive: Combat and UI
In our final open beta feedback deep dive, we want to touch on combat and UI in Bless Unleashed. Round 8 is making some changes to Bless Unleashed to help progression feel better and to increase the satisfaction that players feel while farming in Bless Unleashed.
Combat Changes
Round 8 was rather happy with your feedback on combat in our open beta, and are confident combat is on the right track. There are not any major changes planned for combat speed, but Round 8 will be working on polishing the combat experience and ensuring that it feels even more satisfying at release.
Round 8 is making small changes to combat effects for all classes. Ranged characters will notice some minor visual effect improvements, and improved sound effects so that your attacks feel more satisfying when they hit. Melee classes will notice improved trajectories for their weapons, and improved camera positioning so that swinging a sword or axe looks and feels better. On top of this, animation lock times on combo finishers will be reduced and those abilities will be rebalanced.
Players will also be able to unlock combo abilities faster, which means that you’ll have more choices for attack combos earlier in the game, allowing you to experience a more dynamic style of play right away.
Interface Upgrades
Round 8 is also making some changes to the UI based on your feedback. Targeting logic will be improved to make it easier to target overlapping enemies, and a better field of view to users when they’re locked on to larger monsters will be provided. Finally, Round 8 will be adding a few more controller layouts to help players find a control schema that works best for them.
Progress for Progression
Round 8 already touched on this lightly when it was revealed above that combos would be unlocked more swiftly. In addition to this, one new skill for each class will be added. These skills will be designed to fit each classes playstyle, and will require changing some other blessing skills as well.
New players entering the Dream Dungeon will notice that their characters are even more powerful during this important sequence. This should allow players to be able to better experience what a class can do at the end game than before.
Round 8 is also working to ensure that all blessings remain relevant throughout the game, including your first Blessing. The Blessing of Valor will have additional upgrades added to it which should allow it to be a viable option not only in the early game, but even at the end game.
An additional dungeon for level 18-20 players will also be added, to help smooth out that period of leveling.
We also want to remind players about the additional crafting and upgrading changes highlighted in this blog, including better abilities on accessories and other gear in earlier parts of the game, as well as adding the ability to sell upgraded gear on the marketplace. Our hope is that with these changes, players will be able to more fully enjoy their journey in Bless Unleashed!
