Sweet Blush Sheep Plush Concept Art Spotlight!
The Bless Unleashed design team is back to share with us how they came up with the ewe-nique Sweet Blush Sheep Plush and the Goldenfleece Kid mounts!
The Sweet Blush Sheep Plush is absolutely adorable! How did you come up with this idea?
The Sweet Blush Sheep Plush itself wasn’t the first thing we thought of, but the idea came up while brainstorming about mounts with the team. The following story was suggested by a designer as a background for this mount, and thus the Sweet Blush Sheep Plush was created in the midst of designing many different variations of a sheep plush.
Sheep Backstory
The Sheep Plush was originally an abandoned toy. When a girl found the toy and made it look new again, the toy started to come alive. The girl made clothes for her fluffy plush friend to wear. She didn’t forget a hole for the tail!
I’m glad the sheep found a good home! How did the Goldenfleece Kid come into play then?
After we brainstormed about the Sweet Blush Sheep Plush, we needed another mount to go with the season. The idea of the Goldenfleece Kid was conceptualized during this same brainstorming session, and we created a story to go along with this golden design.
Goldenfleece Kid Backstory
Set in a fairy forest, a baby goat was discovered inside a hut. A jar filled with various colored dyes of faeries was found in the workshop next to the hut. Out of curiosity, the goat dipped its body in the dye jar and its fur turned golden! Now with a new golden fur coat, the goat bragged about its unique appearance to others. All the other goats fell in love with the luscious, golden fur and traveled to the workshop in order to transform themselves into various colors using the faeries’ dyes. Although the faeries were displeased at the goats, there were still some that snuck in to use the faeries’ dyes.
How mischievous! Did the team use any references to help mold these designs?
A handmade sweater was used as reference for the Sweet Blush Sheep Plush because it embodied the girl’s love for the plush! For the Goldenfleece Kid, a baby goat (with no horns) was used as reference. We tried to portray the adventurous spirit and quirkiness of a child.
Did you go through multiple iterations to get the mounts to the point at which you felt it was complete?
Definitely, we had several variations in mind for the Sweet Blush Sheep Plush. We tried enlarging its ears and tail, and even placed a bell around its neck. After we chipped away at all the different possibilities, what you see now in the game became the final, lovable version. We thought all the variations were so cute, hopefully we would be able to make them all into mounts someday!
We hope you enjoyed this exclusive look into the design process. The team is constantly inventing new items for players to enjoy!
