Los Angeles Lakers Team Up With ONE PIECE for Game Night Collab Feb. 28

In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Japan's global anime phenomenon ONE PIECE joins forces with the Los Angeles Lakers for a legendary game night collab Friday, Feb. 28 as the Lakers take on the Clippers at Crypto.com Arena.

The night will feature ONE PIECE themed experiences, including a first look at an animation featuring Luffy playing basketball. Special Lakers-inspired visuals of all 10 characters in the Straw Hat Pirates Crew will be released on social media in celebration of the game.

Fans in attendance will receive a limited-edition Lakers x ONE PIECE T-shirt and a poster featuring newly revealed artwork of the beloved Straw Hat Pirates in Lakers’ purple and gold. Fans at the game can capture the magic of this night at the ONE PIECE Bounty Rush photo booth on the main concourse inside Crypto.com Arena. In addition, randomly selected fans will be invited to compete for prizes in a special on-court ONE PIECE game.

About ONE PIECE

ONE PIECE, created by Eiichiro Oda, began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump," issue 34, 1997(Shueisha) released on July 22nd, 1997.  Still going strong, it celebrated its 25th anniversary in July of 2022. The cumulative worldwide print circulation of the manga exceeded 510 million copies as of August 2022, distributed across 60 countries and regions worldwide. Most recently, the live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE was released exclusively on Netflix to great acclaim. The anime produced by Toei Animation began airing in Japan in 1999, and celebrated its 25th anniversary on October 20, 2024.

Bandai's "ONE PIECE Card Game" has also become a global phenomenon, while "ONE PIECE Bounty Rush," the mobile game from Bandai Namco Entertainment, reached a milestone of 150 million downloads worldwide in August 2024. The multi-media juggernaut celebrated ONE PIECE DAY '24 at Makuhari Messe in Japan on August 10-11, 2024, hosting its biggest event ever with a dedicated exhibition and LIVE entertainment zones.

Series Synopsis

A grand maritime adventure revolving around the quest for "One Piece" - the ultimate treasure. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his loyal "Straw Hat Pirates" as they hone their unique abilities while adventuring across the world's oceans in pursuit of their dreams. For Luffy, that means becoming the King of the Pirates!

日本が世界に誇るアニメ『ONE PIECE』がロサンゼルス・レイカーズと初のコラボレーションを行い、2月28日（金）にCrypto.comアリーナで行われるクリッパーズ戦に登場します。
この試合を記念して、レイカーズのユニフォームを着用した「麦わらの一味」のコラボビジュアルがソーシャルメディアで公開されます。この試合では、ルフィがバスケットボールをするアニメーションが初めて公開されるなど、ONE PIECEをテーマにした体験が提供されます。

来場したファンは、コラボ限定Tシャツやオリジナルポスターを手に入れることができるほか、Crypto.comアリーナ内のメインコンコースで展開されるONE PIECE バウンティラッシュフォトブースでは、この日だけの特別な写真を撮ることができます。
さらに、ランダムに選ばれた幸運なファンが、豪華賞品をかけてコート上で行われる特別なONE PIECEゲームにチャレンジするなど様々な企画が目白押しです。

『ONE PIECE』について

【作品あらすじ】
